More Cover

New cover image for the 3rd and final comic I'm putting into my book. ...I just realized how... unhappy I was while making the actual comic pages and now I really wish I had done more of the comic in the style of this cover. My line-work has gotten very tight and un-fun. So the next few images I post here will be looser, and generally less uptight. Enjoy!

Music Production

A quick CD design I did for my buddy, Ra-sun sometime in the wee morning hours of...last night. Does that make sense?

He'll be handing some promos of his music out at a few events in the coming days. The main requirement was to leave an area open for him to write out particular track names on a part of the CD. So, be useful, left side of CD.

Let The Right One In

I decided to try and practice some portraiture while taking a break from comic-pages so... I cranked this out a bit quickly today.

Recently, I saw this movie for the second time. This is by far one of THEE best films I've ever seen(and since it's based off a book, I should read that as well). It's just shot so beautifully, the children were absolutely perfect for the roles (probably because the director spent three years searching for them) and the story itself is incredible. The fact that someone managed to involve something like a vampire into a coming-into-adolescence story is amazing. Go buy the DVD or rent 'Let The Right One In'! Go now!

BLAZIN' PINKS!

First three pages of the new comic. It'll be 16 in total. I might post 1-2 more pages up here but this one will be in the printed 'n bound book as well. I have yet to come up with a title, although the subject of this post seems pretty good for a current substitute/ad-lib! I'm trying out some...crazy stuff this time around. I don't think I'd have ever used hot-magenta pink for anything but I'm happy with the outcome. Phew. Sorry for the lack of posts lately! I've been doing a lot of writing simultaneously. Enjoy!

Visiting Hours Comic

Just finished a new 18 page comic that will join my 'Pinky Swear' comic, aaaand one other sequential story(that will be cranked out over the next 3-6 weeks) in a printed/bound book. Assemble - Disassemble

Two quickie wine labels. One is for a holiday wine; pretty obvious to guess which one, no?

The one at the bottom is italian for 'The Chinese Cat.' It was originally to be titled 'The Sleeping Cat' but the image worked for both.

I've been pretty busy lately. I swear there's lots coming up, not just these little labels. Expect an 18 page comic to be posted up here in the near future. I went so far as to disassemble my computer desk and swap it out for my drafting table which needed to be re-assembled. My illustration studio isn't a glorified closet like some NYC/Brooklyn rooms... but juuuust not big enough for both desks simultaneously. Enjoy!

Year Of The...

OX!

I'm having an early celebration of the Chinese New Year and decided to crank this image out real fast this week. The New Year is actually taking place on the 26th this year as that's the night of the full moon.

So if you were born in 1973, 1985, 1997, and so on, this is YOUR year! 2008 was my year... good 'ole Rat. I can't complain. I've been trying to be incredibly productive this past year. Hope this year treats everyone to good health, wealth, happiness, and love!
